Language As Social Power

As Bertrand Russell observed in The History Of Western Philosophy, social power is power over each other.

As Douglas Adams observed in The Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy:
it is a well-known and much lamented fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.
